The techno optimist state

Have you ever thought about how different society would be if an entire government decided to invest all its time, money and policy into science and technology (and the soft culture that enables them)? If entire national budgets were earmarked for research, venture capital, subsidies and employee perks. We’d already have LEV, space based solar power and all cancers would have been cured in the 90s.

This began as a pastime I read & wrote about privately but I think there is a real possibility of making it happen in < a decade. The plan is to begin with an online community, turn it into collective action, and ultimately build a society somewhere on the planet that is obsessed with technological progress.
